The Red Garuda practice focuses on healing. It heals the practitioner by generating and receiving positive energies, healing empowerments, and protections from the Red Garuda. And it heals others by generating the ability and power to transform negativity, disturbances and obstacles that cause illness.

The Red Garuda practice is part of the secret Tantra teachings of the Father Tantra of Bön. The Red Garuda, as all Tantric practices, has as its goal transformation of negative into positive. Part of this transformation includes the inner spiritual transformation of the practitioner; transforming one’s ordinary and dualistic views and conceptions into a higher spiritual vision.

In Bön, the authenticity and lineage of the teachings is critical. We are fortunate to be able to learn the Red Garuda teaching from Latri Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche. Rinpoche is a Bön monk, and holds the Geshe degree from Menri Monastery, as well as being recognized formally by Menri Monastery as a Rinpoche (“jewel” of Bön). Rinpoche is the lineage holder of the Latri lineage in the Kham region of Tibet, and is the Abbot of his ancestral monastery in Tibet. Rinpoche was the first Bön monk to teach Red Garuda in the West.

Rinpoche received the Red Garuda teaching from His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin (Abbot), who holds the Red Garuda lineage in an unbroken chain tracing back to the original teachings of Red Garuda by Tonpa Shenrab. Rinpoche is dedicated to teaching the Red Garuda, and all other teachings, using the original texts and in the original way taught by Menri Monastery, so as to preserve the purity and power of the teachings.

Yeru’s first Red Garuda Advanced Retreat has finished, but another retreat is being planned for 2018. The Advanced Retreats are only available to those that have completed the online course.
